Cheap Snowboarding Holidays

Help with snowboarding holiday choice in Feb 2009?

Me and a couple of friends are looking to go snowboarding for a week in early-mid February 2009 and are looking at France as it is slightly cheaper. Is this a good time to go and where has decent nightlife/slopes/prices! We are all pretty much beginners.

February is the best time to go!! However the most expensive as the school holidays are around.

Me and my boyfriend go in early december, christmas, february, march and april if the snows good.

We usually go to places like Flaine, Courcheval, and just recently went to Tignes.

All of the resorts are brilliant, nightlife is mostly good, and at february you are guaranteed very good snow, so good slopes.

I’d recommend Flaine, the prices are a lot cheaper than most other resorts. Although the resort is slightly old fashioned (60s architecture), the skiing and boarding is very good.

Were heading there this christmas, and have been going for 3 years now. If your looking to save money, I’d drive down. Its a lot cheaper.

Stay in an apartment, cheaper plus you’re not restricted.

It usually works out at £1000, for a week for the both of us. But with friends I’d say at about £1500 for 5 of you.

In staying in one of the apartments you get discount on board hire, plus the shops seem very relaxed and trust worthy anyway.

I think Flaine is brill for beginners, there’s a huge nursery slope (short green run) right in front of the apartments, so it’s straight onto skiis and you’re away! The slope offers a FREE chair lift back up to the top. And its resonably cheap on lift passes.
