no Snowboard shop, how do i fix scratches in my board? cant wait for shipping of stuff…..?

im going snowboarding on the 14th, sunday and my board has a couple small scratches in it along with a huge and kinda deep one, and i know that i need to get it touched up

there is no snowboard shop in my town. i got some parafin wax and an old iron to do the easy rewax, but what can i do to fix the big scratches?

i guess i need to find an alternative to p-tex sticks to fill in the holes cuz i cant get them anywhere here

Like you said, unless you can get P-Tex sticks don’t screw up your base jerry-rigging it. Just cut off all straggling P-Tex scraps with a razor blade, and trim off all jagged P-Tex damage. Then fill the deepest holes with wax first (just the holes, not the rest of the board) and give them extra time to cool (hours) then scrape them until they are all flush with your base. Then re-wax your entire board, make sure to not let the iron overheat those semi-repaired areas. This is a good quick-fix. After you’re done riding, and once you get those P-Tex sticks, make sure you give that board PLENTY of time to dry out. If you seal it with moisture in the wooden blank, it will cause the board to delaminate faster. (meaning its layers will begin to warp and seperate)
